Today I just wanted to pop in and share some images of some things I have been working on (other than the new sewing patterns!).
I cast off this gorgeous red scarf a few days ago...
I saved this tiny bit of yarn to use as fringe, but I am not sure I really want fringe now. I love myself some super long scarves. This yarn is a gorgeous hand dyed yarn created by a local spinner. Wish I could get a hold of more!
I love her yarns and the Rialto collection is my favorite..it is such a lovely soft merion wool! And it comes in a gorgeous color range.
I have this gorgeous green pile of Rialto that I will cast on soon...planning to knit a cowl.
I also have this huge skein of green cotton, also spun and dyed by a the local spinning group. I plan to make a cowl with this, but there may not be enough yarn here for that...we'll see.
And these two green skeins, also cotton from the local spinning group, will become a scarf soon.
Before I start the new green projects, I have to finish this up!
More Debbie Bliss Rialto....in such a great shade of blue!
I also made progress with my DSQ8 quilt. I down selected from the fabrics I showed a few days ago.
Everything is cut out. I am doing a combination of applique and patchwork. I love coming up with these original designs and playing with fabric combinations/colors and mixing lines! Here is a sneak peek of the design:
I hope to have this done over the weekend! I'll share pics of the final quilt after the recipient gets it! :) Hope she likes it! As mentioned in the last post, this quilt swap is a surprise. It is tricky sewing something for someone you don't know...but I think I picked the right colors and theme for this one. We'll see.
Alrighty then...I am off. For those of you that shop with me, remember the website will be closed down tomorrow night. So get your last orders in if there is something there that you love. And as I mentioned in my lastest newsletter, I hope to have the new site up and running within about 3-4 weeks. I need to make sure all the ducks are lined up for Sheree's Alchemy Designs and then I'll get to roll out the new Sheree's Alchemy website!
Well, have a wonderful day folks! And spend some time making something beautiful!
