I know, I know. You are all thinking...Sheree, Where on earth have you been! I ask myself each day, where is time going? But as the sewing goes, time flies when you are having fun, right! I have indeed been enjoying myself immensely! I spend most of my time in the shop and then at home with the family. My winter was spent sewing up a storm, teaching up a storm, and cooking and baking (and eating!) up a storm! I wish I could say excercising up a storm next, but that is a whole different conversation. So nope, I am not even going there today!
I can't share everything in detail with you all in this post, because this would be a ridiculously long blog post. And yes, I know some of you are thinking, Sheree, your blog posts are always ridiculously long. Just bare with me as a share a bit of the highlights. And then the end of the post features the giveaway for today! So be sure to read to the end and enter to win the goodies!
First, I have to show a couple images of my babes. They enjoyed the snow this winter!
Now, let me brag on some of my students. I have been blessed with just a great bunch of students and have been thoroughly enjoying spreading my love of sewing, quilting and making with them! Midland, Michigan is filled with a ton of folks interested in the craft and they are finding me and my shop, which just thrills me to pieces! Here are a few pictures of past students and their projects. You can see more by visiting my facebook page. I have set up an album there and will be adding more pictures there soon.
If you are local and want to come take a class with me, be sure to check out the current class schedule. I've added classes through April. I am working on the May/June/July schedule, which will include loads of great weeklong summer camps for kids again!

Amy Butler Weekend Travel Bag Pattern Class using her Lark Home Dec collection. Take this class on Monday, April 30th from 9am-1pm.
I'll share more projects from upcoming classes in my next class. We have so many great projects on the schedule, including lots of apparel classes for adults and kids! So do keep an eye out for those.
One of the things I love most about being in the shop is being surrounded by all of this colorful, joyous eye candy.
I am loving the Lark quilter's cottons, laminates and sateens by Amy Butler! I have already sewn up some great items with these prints and can't wait to sew more!
And I am also loving that Flea Market Fancy has been reprinted!!! I have the entire collection in the shop and will hopefully start adding it to the website soon.
I have so much for to share with you all, but I need to start wrapping this up. So let's get on to the Giveaway!! I headed down to Ohio last month to tape a couple more episodes of It's Sew Easy TV, which airs nationwide on PBS. If you are new to the blog, or missed my post about my tapings for Season 1, be sure to read this post and get yourself caught up. The kids went with me for this trip, as they had the day off from school. One of my little darlings will have her TV debut! Yes, Leah taped a show with me. I cannot even tell you all how exciting that was for the two of us. Here are a few pictures for you all. I did not take too many this time, as I was the last taping on Friday and did not have alot of time.
from left to right:Deepika,Stephanie, Angela, Erin, me and Leah on the set of It's Sew Easy TV. We all taked episodes on the same day. I don't when our episodes will air yet, but they'll another post coming up with more details!
a quick picture before hitting the road to head back to Michigan. From left to right: Katherine, assistant to show producer, Kathie Stull, show producer, Me, June Millenger of Brother International, Lucas and Leah in the front row.
I will let you all know when the start date for Season 3 is announced! And I'll show you my projects at that time, and of course will have another giveaway then.
If you want to see the show, go to the It's Sew Easy TV website or the PBS.org website and search your area to see if it is airing. If it is not, and you'd like to have your local PBS channel pick up the show, contact the local channels and tell them you want to see the show! Some areas picked the show up right away, while others did not. But PBS listens to its viewers, so if you want to see it, let them know.
Well, the show producer, the fabulous Kathie Stull, gave me a full DVD set of Season 1 to giveaway. I am on Episodes 108, 110 and 113. The DVD set is chuck full of great contemporary sewing inspiration, products and projects.
In addition to the DVD Set, I am throwing some fabulous fabric.
One of my projects features the incredibly sweet and out of print Momo's It's A Hoot Collection. So I have some fat quarters and 1 full yard cut of fabrics from this collection for the winner. Use it to make my project and then send me pictures so I can share here on the blog, okay! I also have a piece of laminated cotton fabric, which is featured in another one of my projects.
Again, I'd love for the winner to make up my apron design and send me pictures to share here on the blog.
So if you are interested in winning all of this fabulousness, leave a comment here on this post telling me if you have seen the show...if you have not seen it, why not!...and also share with me what you'd like to see more of on TV in the way of sewing/crafting. What's missing from the TV circuit for all of us crafty types?
I'll close comments on this post on Monday, March 26, 2012 and pick a winner soon after.
Okay lovely folks. I wish you all a fabulous and creative weekend! Remember, take some time to make something lovely, okay. It is good for the soul, my friends!
Have a Happy, Blessed and Creative Day!
Hugs,
Sheree

Hi Sheree! So good to have you back.
True confession - I have NOT seen your show! Have I been living under a rock that this somehow missed my attention? Must be - but I'll hit up PBS for my area and see when it is.
I'd love to see a program on intermediate and advanced pattern making and bag making!!!

OK - back again - it's not available in our area. 8-(

I also have not seen your show, but don't take it personally! I have not seen anyone's show! I'm not much of a TV person and it is never on before 8:00 at night anyway, never in the daytime! Your fabrics are just lovely and I would love to make some of your projects with them!

Gorgeous fabrics! And I could surely use the DVD.
I haven't seen the show or any other crafts/sewing show. Honestly, there is not enough hours in a day and the little time I have we usually put in a movie. Maybe if they were available online (netflix possibly) so I can watch while I work, maybe I would give it a try (maybe they are, I haven't really checked).
Thanks for the giveaway!!!

I never watch live TV, just dvds and taped shows while I'm working. I will have to see if my area airs this show and the add it to the taping list. I do connect my computer to the tv to watch other quilting shows and love all the inspiration and technique I learn from it. I am sure the same would go if I could watch your shows. Thanks for the chance to win.

Congrats on the show! I've never seen it, as I don't have a TV. :)

I havent seen your show because my tv is constantly on preschool shows! A DVD would be awesome because I could play it on my computer.

I have not seen your show but I'm going to check the tv guide for it. Great give away!

I haven't seen It's Sew Easy yet. We don't have cable TV, so if it's not on the internet it's hard to catch. Looks very interesting though!

Always lovely to hear what's happening with you, Sheree. Thanks for the beautiful and always interesting update. I wish I lived close enough to pop by your store!
Congrats on taping more episodes of It's Sew Easy. I don't have cable, so I've never watched it, but it sounds appealing. I much prefer watching shows on DVD anyways, so now I know to look for it.
Take care!

How exciting for both you and your kids! I've never seen the show because we don't have tv, but I will check online to see if they air any shows that way. When hubby works nights, I could be watching some great inspiring shows. Would love to see it on DVD and full screen :)

Would love to have the DVDs for my library. I get to see the show twice a week on 2 different PBS stations in my area.(Chicagoland, WYCC & WYIN) Love the prints!!

Welcome back, Sheree! I was so excited to hear about the show. My local PBS station doesn't carry it, so they'll be hearing from me. It's great to see a show for the modern sewist.
Posted by: Amy | March 22, 2012 at 07:19 AM
I wish this was available on either of my local PBS stations! Although the one that shows craft shows tends to schedule them at 6 am on Saturday, so I can't watch them anyway. I'm glad to see that web link above, though!

I haven't seen the show but it is now officially on my DVR list! So I will not miss the new episodes. Hopefully I can find the older episodes on Demand. Can't wait to see your episodes!

Can I join in??
Great to see you back!

I haven't seen the show, only because we have a Roku and don't have access to this specific show. Would love to win the DVD and fabric, however. And I'm deciding which class I should take at your shop!! They all look so fun!

Okay I have no good excuse for not seeing the show...you have mentioned it to me multiple times. How great would it be though if I had the DVD set and I could actually watch it whenever the mood struck? It would be awesome!

Congratulations on another show! I would love to see the first season and have the chance to work with some of those gorgeous prints. Thanks so much for sharing! It's great to have you back on the blog!
