Hey There!
Just checking in to update you all on the happenings around here. We are moving back to the US!!! This is my lame excuse for not launching the new boutique site. Things have been soo crazy around here with all these changes. I always had a feeling that as soon as I was ready to launch, we'd move. And sure enough!lol That is how it goes. The move is earlier than we thought, but this opportunity came up for DH and so once again, time for change! We were back in the US for the last 9 days looking at the area and looking for houses and all that jazz. Fun, but exhausting and totally overwhelming. Things move so quickly. I can hardly catch my breath here. So much to do to get ready for the movers. We still have a load of people to call to let them know about the move. And then canceling school enrollments, getting in all my Euro fabric orders so I can bring a boat load home with me!, and then of course getting everything set up in our new home...well we have to actually buy a house first! We fell in love with two...one is ready to move into and empty right now.....the other is also great, but will require a bit of remodeling/updating. We will make some decisions tonight and will hopefully have a new house in the next couple days. It is insane doing all this overseas. I think I may finally have my first strand of gray hair growing in! But I am excited about getting there, settling in and getting the Boutique site up and running and expanding the fabric site as well. I can finally (easily) buy all those glorious new fabric collections that have come out in the last year!!! I'll be at the Quilt Market in Houston this Fall so I am looking forward to seeing all the lovely fabrics in person!! My heart is thumping just thinking about it--I will probably faint. I have seen so many collections that I absolutely must have...can't wait to get to shopping. Of course, I'll be bringing home as much European fabrics as I can get my hands on before the movers arrive in a couple weeks. I already have a ton, but honestly, with the US dollar being so weak and the shipping being so expensive from Germany, I really did not put anything new on the website. That will change though! Can't wait to share them with you all through the website. I have some other things in the works...well they have been in the works for a while...but very hard for me to get done here and on my own. But I am hoping that in Fall after we settle in I can dedicate alot of time to these other projects as well. My little guy will actually be in school in the Fall, so theoretically, I'll have a few more hours each day to work. I am thinking of trying to hire some help as well...it would be great to find some local ladies that are interested in helping out with some business stuff and would give me a bit of company...the isolation is the only thing I don't like about working at home. I am such a social person, being cooped up in the house all day alone can drive me a bit batty after a while. Anyway, I'll pop back in soon. I am planning a website update so I can do one last shipment before I close down the site for a month or so. Then I'll reopen as soon as our belongings arrive at our new (soon to be) house.
I hope you all are enjoying summer thus far!
Talk soon,
Sheree
wow those are huge news! But glad to see that even with the chaos of moving countries again, you are excited about it :-)
Please, be sure to let me know when you do update the store before moving because I definitely want some fabrics! Remember I wanted some fabrics a while ago? :-) Oh and since you're going away , if you'd like to share with your "german" neighbor where to get wonderful Euro fabrics around here without losing my pants (lol) for personal projects that would be really sweet from you :-)

Wow! forget the other stuff -- and just pack fabric! -- I can't wait to see your new site and buy some yummy euro goods. Also ... where exactly is local for you (I seem to think somewhere in New York State ...)?

I'm so happy for you! Hope all goes smoothly and is as stress-free as possible. And, of course, that I actually make it to Houston this fall to meet you IRL!

I'm so glad you commented on my blog... it lead me to find your blog! I could spend hours here reading and looking at all your fab photos. Envious of you living in Germany (my family is from there), and best wishes and smooth moving on your journey back to the US!
