Hello Friends,
I am back today to do a little quilting talk and to share a giveaway with you all!
See this stack of lovelies.
Well, they are sick and tired of sitting around on the shelf. They have been whispering "quilt me...hang me on a wall...drape me on a bed...finish me up so I can be cuddled" for months. I've heard their pleas, and so I have declared they will get done. So, I have set a mission to spend my weekends this Fall quilting! It will take a few weekends to make my way through all of my quilt tops. But hopefully within a month or two, they will all be done.
I finished up this lovely little patchwork baby quilt, which is a class sample and will soon be a little kit in the shop.
It is the perfect 1st patchwork quilt, actually! And I still have a soft spot for this Momo's collection.
I have 3 quilt tops basting, hoping to have a productive weekend with them in between making squash costumes for Lucas' upcoming school play!
Another reason why I am putting myself on a mission to get all the pieced tops sitting around quilted and bound is because I have been sketching out new designs like crazy and keep getting in gorgeous new prints in the shop that are inspiring even more ideas. Like these bundles below....they have me itching to try out some new designs for Spring patterns and classes!
I keep coming up with idea after idea and wanting to just jump right in and give them a whirl. But that is how that stach got created in the first place! So I have told myself I cannot start any more quilt tops until I get the others finished up. So yes, I have some pretty motivation to stay on course and be productive with my quilting queen this weekend!
What are you up to this weekend?
In case you need a new project to start, check out this free e-book from Interweave Press that features one of my quilts (along with quilts from Denyse Schmidt, Malka Dubrawsky and Krista Fleckenstein).
My quilt, along with Krista's first appeared in 101 Patchwork Projects, which is chock full of great, easy projects.
And for fun, I will giveaway one copy of 101 Patchwork Projects to one of you lovely blog readers. I don't even think I ever mentioned here on the blog, but I have 5 projects feature in this lovely publication! I have the entire ensemble pictured above (quilt, overnight tote, play cube and baby burp cloths)
and then this "Centered" quilt, featured another all time favorite fabric collection!
Here are some images of the magazine. it is a huge one. It really does have 101 patchwork projects, plus a basic sewing and quilting guide.
If you'd like to be entered into the giveaway, just leave a comment here letting me know, how do you plan on spending your upcoming Fall weekends? Sewing...quilting...cooking...baking? Or some other creative project on your plate? Are you like me with a pile of quilt tops sitting around, waiting to be quilted? Or do you have some other unfinished objects that need to get finished up?
I am looking forward to reading about all of you planned Fall projects! I wish you all a Happy, Colorful Friday! And I hop you'll all find some time to do something creative this weekend!
Hugs,
Sheree
Like you, I am hoping to get a lot of projects done in the fall months. I have so many UFOs that are begging me to finish them up too. But.....it is also a great time for cool weather cooking and entertaining. So much to do!!!

That looks like a great magazine! I am trying to get as much sewing done as possible to prepare for the holidays. I had so many Christmas things that didn't get done last year. I'm trying to catch up. OH, and having our kitchen remodeled, too. Fun! Thanks for the giveaway!

I have a little more time since being layer off my job. I am still trying to get through organizing stuff so I can get to my sewing. It snowed overnight so it feels like Christmas. Time to get sewing up beautiful gifts. I hope I can find your projects/ the magazine here. Congrats!

I never get any sewing done on the weekends. Here in Southern California weather is almost always nice and we try to spend as little time as possible indoors. So weekends are probably going to be spent with family on walks or bike rides.
Thanks for the giveaway!

I'm doing things little by little to prep the house for the 22 guests we are having for Thanksgiving weekend. Trying to make ahead food and freeze for stress free prep time and little favors for everyone.
I like the way polka dot binding looks on that cute scrap quilt. Very nice.

My UFOs and Christmas gifts are high on the list. This week-end some of my quilting friends are coming by and we are going to concentrate on Christmas gift making.
I have never seen that magazine! It looks AWESOME...

I'd love to enter your giveaway! Thanks for the email letting me know about it. During the next few fall weekends I'd love to get started on a quilt for my neighbor who watches out for our home and property whenever we're away. She has a southwestern theme...I just need to find the right fabric for her style!
