Hello!
Today I'd like to do a little sew and tell session! We have been having so much fun stitching up one-of-a-kind creations here in the shop. Let me brag on some of my recent students! They are really just so amazing. I teach alot of beginners in the shop. And I am having a blast teaching them that beginner/easy projects can still be gorgeous and creative. They are very fast learners and creative little cookies, as every sessions ends with them each making incredible handmade items that they are just amazed they created (usually in 3 hours or less!) and I know they will cherish the items forever. My goal is always that they enjoy the process, express their full creativity and that they will want to keep on sewing. So far, that has been the case!
Check out 3 of my students from a recent patchwork pillow class! In this class, they all came up with original ideas for what they wanted to make and I taught them how to go about turning their design in to reality! These were all beginner level students and it was their first time ever making a pillow. I think they hit the ball out of the park.
Next up are some students from a recent beginner tote back class. This is my most popular beginner level class. Dozens of students have completed this class and noone has ever made the same bag! I love that!!
Next up, I'd like to show off some custom orders that I have completely recently. I just love when little girls get to come in the shop and pick out designs and fabrics and then I get to create clothing and accessories just for them. I did not grow up wearing handmade clothes. My mom did not sew and I did not know anyone that did. But for some reason, I ways wanted to learn. I can remember being little and loving pretty dresses and wanting to wear them all the time. I think I would have fainted if I would have been able to pick out a dress style and the fabric and have someone make a dress just for me! I know how excited my daughter has always been with dresses and other things I have made for her. And now that she is older and not wearing the "little girl dresses and outfits" anymore, I am so thrilled I still have alot of little customers to sew for! Yup, I know, I am a very lucky girl. Here are 2 outfits I made for two asisters that traveled up from a town about 45 minutes away from Midland along with their grandmother to visit my show and have me custom make something for them (grandma's treat!).
They requested to have matching doll clothes as well.
These doll dresses were so fast and easy...I might have to make more. I don't usually like making such small things though...but the cutest may change my mind. :)
Finally, I want to show you all this little rack of goodness in the shop.
I finished these dariling dresses up last week and hope to have them listed on Etsy soon. They are available now in store. All size 3T...all adorable! I am working on size 4's and 5's and hope to have them done in the next 2 weeks. I will also be taking custom orders on these as well.
Okay folks, I need to run. I have a class schedule to finish typing in so it can go live on the website and be distributing to the mailing list. Then I have a few custom orders due early next week, so I'll sneak in some sewing between helping customers. Also, tomorrow is the last day of school for the kids. Leah will be finished with Elementary School! Can you believe that! I can't!!! So I have some final planning to do for summer camps for the kids and some summer vacation trips for the family!
So I hope you all have a beautifully creative day.
See you soon!
